A wise man once said, “After nourishment, shelter, and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world.”
It’s the stories that give wings to our imagination and take us to places beyond the boundaries of our physical world and into the land of fairies, dragons, and wishing trees.
BGSVS organized a storytelling session conducted by Ms. Swetcha Pershad, a popular storyteller, writer, life coach, kathak dancer, and theatre artist, to foster the skills of listening. Children have an innate love for stories. Stories create magic and a sense of wonder. A good storytelling session did wonders for children’s imagination and worked at enhancing their expression.
The session was attended by the students of steps III and IV.
Listening with rapt attention, they were exposed to the basics of theatrical movement, voice modulation, and the rhythm of storytelling. Developing communication skills, and expanding the realm of their imagination was the main objective of the workshop. Overall, the event was thoroughly enjoyed by the children.
