Christmas Day

The month ended with a great Christmas celebration. Students of Step VI onwards conducted the event. The event was initiated with the prayer followed by candle lighting, skit on the birth of Jesus Christ, Christmas Carol and last but not the least a dance with the Santa Claus. Students enthusiastically participated in Cake decoration and Tree decoration competition.

    National Mathematics Day

    Maths Day was celebrated on the occasion of birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan. A quiz was organized for the students of step I onwards. Students made rangoli patterns using shapes.

      Human Rights Day

      All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. An assembly was conducted on human rights day by students of step VII. The students discussed all the constitutional rights in the assembly.

        Fit India week

        Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t.
        Fitness week was celebrated at BGSVS. The students performed yoga, exercises and meditation. They took oath to keep themselves fit and select a sport for them. The importance of fitness was discussed by the sports teacher with the students.

          A workshop was conducted by our respected Principal Ma’am on ‘The Oz Principle’. It was very encouraging and motivating for all the teachers highlighting the importance of accountability in our lives.

            Capacity Building Programme for Educators

            A session on ‘Effective NEP implementation in Mathematics at the foundational and preparatory stages’, the webinar was conducted by Ms. Aashalata Badami on Saturday, 4th December 2021. The session focused on building subitizing skills using pictorial aid at the concept building stage. The session talked about the importance of building logical and critical thinking skills from the foundation and integrating the skill with experiential learning to give the learners a hand on with real life experiences. The technique will help the learners to access the situation and think logically to find an answer themselves. The session also highlighted on the use of technology and digital resources for teaching the concepts and make learning more engaging and interactive. It gave an insight on the importance of stories and how they can be used as an informative tool to integrate the art of teaching Math to children to make a strong foundation for our learners.

              Capacity Building programme for Educators

              'Jolly Grammar' a session led by Sara Wernham, dated: 02 December'21. The session talked about the systematic and chronological ways of teaching phonics to a child from an early age. Though the 'English' language has a lot of exceptions, phonics helps the early learners to understand the different sounds which act as an aid for reading. It laid emphasis on the different techniques to be used by the teachers for teaching short sounds, blends, diagraphs etc. The session also encouraged on integrating different teaching techniques to help children read and frame sentences. It also mentioned on how Jolly Phonics grammar workbooks synthesize with the technique of teaching and practicing various grammatical concepts.

                National Pollution Control Day

                Poster making competition was conducted on the occasion of National Pollution Control day. Students prepared posters showcasing the do’s and don’t’s to control pollution.
